About Us
x In November of 1984 eight individuals from the Norwalk, Wilton & Westport area agreed to meet because they shared a common interest; the fun of owning and driving the automobile that carried the world solidly into the mid 20th century ...... the Model A Ford.

By March of 1985 the group, now known as the Fairfield County A's was officially accepted as a chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America ("MAFCA"). MAFCA is an international organization with over 14,000 members and 325 chapters worldwide.

The purpose of the Fairfield County A's Chapter is to preserve and enjoy the Model A Ford. Membership is open to anyone with a similar interest and is not limited to just Model A owners.

Founding members include Layard Campbell, Pete Everson, Gordon Green, Robert LeBlanc, Joe Malyndziak, Carmine Picarello, Rick Wetzel and Al Wood. Today our club has more than twenty five families who come together for tours, picnics, meetings and other activities that mark the club's calendar.

During the past 20 plus years the Fairfield County A's members have hosted many tours, both long and short. They typical consist of one day events, and often include driving to local areas of interest. Occasionally, a club member will organize a longer two or three day trip where we travel to neighboring states. Our longest tours, both in terms of time and distance, include traveling to Canada and Nova Scotia logging over 3,000 miles. These longer trips are great fun and a testament to the continued roadworthiness of a well maintained ModelA Ford.
